Sofia Baussan is a contemporary artist from El Salvador. Born in 1997, art and design have always been a part of her identity. This was later confirmed when she graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design with a bachelor's degree in industrial design. In 2022, Sofia became a full-time artist. She uses art as a form of journaling, a way to express and document her thoughts and emotions. While her paintings may not be literal self-portraits, they serve as visual representations of her experiences and reflections at specific moments in time. Sofia finds inspiration in the small interactions we have throughout the day, whether they are individual experiences or shared with others. She aims to portray not only the essence of the human experience but also the intricate web of emotions that accompanies it. Through her art, she strives to elevate these everyday interactions by romanticizing them and ultimately celebrating the profound beauty of human connection.
