Ani Mederos

Dominican Republic

Born in the United States to Cuban parents, Ani Mederos has lived in the Dominican Republic for most of her life. Her work focuses on a female perspective of power and responsibility, analyzing the different roles and relationships by which women are conditioned. She continuously searches to interpret and reinterpret the emotional weight of tradition, selection criteria, moral values, social justification, commitment, and the legacy of memories. A multidisciplinary artist working in drawing, collage, printing, and sculpture, her passion for texture is present in the exploration of different materials in her work.
