About the work

"Extractos de Romero" series is a visual and tactile record of an inner journey. I began this series by working with rosemary—an ancient plant tied to memory, healing, and, paradoxically, forgetting. Its dual symbolism drew me in. I wanted to explore how something so familiar could carry such layered meaning. Using natural dye extracted from rosemary grown in my own garden, I experimented with reclaimed photographic paper. Limiting my palette to the hues this plant offers became both a constraint and a form of devotion. The process is slow, intuitive, and deeply connected to the rhythms of nature. This work is an act of self-healing. Each piece reflects a moment of letting go control or perfection in order to embrace what materials and accidents reveal. It’s a way of remembering through making, and of finding presence in what we often overlook.
