My work surges from my homeland, a Caribbean island called Dominican Republic. Its paradisiacal landscape , with afro Caribbean lineage and complicated sociopolitical panorama.

Bio Karla Read (B. Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, 1988) is a photographer and director based in Mexico City. Her work explores human nature through the body in natural settings. After studying and working in Buenos aires, Karla stablished herself in her homeland , where she developed personal work concerning her afro Caribbean lineage and culture. During this time she collaborated with various art galleries, exhibiting her work between Santo Domingo and New York.
