The Artist
MX
Trained as an industrial designer, Molina explores the intersection of body, territory, science and nature from an ecological and sensorial perspective. Her practice incorporates reclaimed and organic materials, natural treatment processes, and collaborative methodologies to explore the feminine, ritual, and the tactile potential of matter. Working in a cross-section of contemporary art, design, and installation, Molina creates poetic languages that connect spiritual ecology with material experimentation. Molina’s work has been shown at Tokyo Designers Week (JP, 2013), Lucca Art Fair (IT, 2019), Zona Maco’s 20th Anniversary (CDMX, 2024), and the 40th Havana Biennial (CU, 2024), where she presented a large-scale collaborative collage. She has led workshops and lectures in Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, and New Zealand.

About the work
xtractos de Romero is a visual and tactile record of an inner journey. I began this series by working with rosemary—an ancient plant tied to memory, healing, and, paradoxically, forgetting. Its dual symbolism drew me in. I wanted to explore how something so familiar could carry such layered meaning. Using natural dye extracted from rosemary grown in my own garden, I experimented with reclaimed photographic paper. Limiting my palette to the hues this plant offers became both a constraint and a form of devotion. The process is slow, intuitive, and deeply connected to the rhythms of nature. This work is an act of self-healing. Each piece reflects a moment of letting go control or perfection in order to embrace what materials and accidents reveal. It’s a way of remembering through making, and of finding presence in what we often overlook.
