María Paula Suarez is a Colombian artist currently based in NYC, where she is pursuing a master’s degree in art business at Sotheby’s Institute of Art. Suarez holds a bachelor’s degree in visual arts with an emphasis in plastic arts from Universidad Javeriana and is certified as an illustrator by the School of Visual Arts in New York. She also completed a pedagogy course at Harvard Online University and currently explores the concept of resilience through mediums like color pencils, illustration, and embroidery on paper. Her work has been exhibited in New York, Miami, Madrid, Mexico City, and Bogotá. She has participated in exhibitions such as the Regional Artists Salon in Colombia and Create-Inspire-Connect in Sanibel, Florida, and she has had three solo exhibitions, including one at La Mercantil Gallery in Mexico City. She considers herself a multidisciplinary artist and believes art is a powerful tool, capable of providing new forms of self-knowledge and reflection.
