The Artist
PE
Born in Venezuela 1977, raised between the Dominican Republic, Chile, Argentina and Perú. Daniela's works immerse us in an artistic universe that includes paintings, drawings, installations and mixed media works. Marin studied Graphic and Communications design at Chavon School of design in the Dominican Republic, graduating with honors. Nature, migration, personal experiences and atmospheric phenomena are recurring themes in her work—moments in which she seeks her own identity as a migrant. She paints to remember: “Pinto para no olvidar”. Through her art, she recovers fragments of her childhood—memories of crossing borders, of constant movement, of shedding skins. Her creative process is rooted in remembering: painting becomes a way to keep memories alive and give shape to what cannot be put into words. Her still life paintings are vivid and tropical, echoing the fruits, objects, and everyday abundance she observed on her family's table as a child. Organic forms, vibrant color palettes, and layered textures evoke the sensations of motion, transformation, and rebirth. Her works often speak of what it means to be reborn in unfamiliar or even hostile places carrying within her the echoes of each place she has called home.
