Valeria Maldonado is a Peruvian architect and artist based in NYC, where she is pursuing a master’s in fine arts at Parsons School of Design. She works primarily with textiles to create experimental embroideries, weavings, and mixed media that explore concepts of mental health, healing trauma, and their relationship with figures she finds in nature. Her background in architecture and interior design allows her to merge her textile art into different styled spaces, creating a balance between the pieces she creates and the overall aesthetic of the surroundings.
